Welcome to DENISE
DENISE is a Dutch public bilingual school for primary and secondary education with an international focus. In the lower years of secondary education, we offer a three-year "brugklas" program (transition or introductory years). In the upper years, we provide the Dutch-language VMBO-TL and HAVO exam programs, as well as the English-language International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB-DP).
DENISE is part of Esprit Scholen and an IB-World School since 2018.
Shaping your future by knowing your past
In 2014, DENISE started with the mission to provide high-quality international and Dutch education for students aged 4 -18.
DENISE was founded on the vision that every child, regardless of origin, skin color, language, gender, culture, or religion, has equal opportunities for a promising school career in the Netherlands. Through our vision, approach, and structure, we offer improved opportunities to obtain a diploma in a good school climate and make a meaningful contribution to society. An 'ordinary' Dutch school where every pupil is welcome. The goal is a good reception and support for newcomers to the Netherlands and access to international education. In this way, we want to maximize the chances of success for newcomers in the Netherlands.
At our school, there are internationals in the broadest sense of the word: from newcomers to Amsterdam students, whether born in the Netherlands or not. We are a school with students from more than 70 different countries.
