Call in sick
If your child is ill, please call the school every day between 7:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. at +31 (0)20 4802700 until your child has recovered and is able to return to school. If your child has gone home sick, please email verzuim@denise.espritscholen.nl to confirm that your child has safely arrived home. For reporting a doctor's appointment or requesting leave, please also email this address.
Being late to school
We expect students to be on time for their classes. Students who arrive late for their class should obtain a "late note" from the reception or education assistant and report to the reception the following day at 8:00 a.m.
Parents/guardians and students can view the attendance overview in Magister. We expect parents/guardians to regularly review this overview with their child. In case of frequent absences, a report may be made to the Attendance Officer from the Gemeente Amsterdam. This may result in disciplinary action or a fine being imposed.
Leave request
To request leave, please fill out a leave application form, which you can download from this page.
LEAVE APPLICATION FORM
The form is also available at the student administration office and should be submitted at least 2 weeks prior to the intended leave. Parents will receive the decision on the leave application via email, and secondary school students can check in Magister to see if the leave has been approved.
